The Faculty of Basic/Modern Education Council holds its third regular open session

The Faculty of Basic/Modern Education Council held its third regular open meeting/second section for the academic year 2025-2026, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Abdul Ali, and attended by the members of the Council, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

At the beginning of the session, the Council hosted the head of the Information Technology Division, who contributed to the promotion and implementation of the strategic plan for digital transformation in accordance with the approved standards.

During the session, the Dean of the College emphasized a number of important directives aimed at improving the educational and research process, stressing the need for full commitment to analyzing exam questions and success rates, comparing them with previous years, and raising them in accordance with approved contexts.

The Dean also directed the need for strict adherence to attendance records and professional discipline for teaching staff and to work in accordance with the instructions and regulations in force, emphasizing the administrative and academic responsibility in this regard.

 

In terms of scientific research, the Dean categorically emphasized that publications should not be made in unaccredited international journals and that it is necessary to adhere to publishing in reputable scientific journals classified within the Scopus and Clarivate databases, which are officially accredited. He also emphasized that the scientific supervisor bears direct responsibility for contacting scientific journals when publishing the research of graduate students, and urged students to publish in classified and reputable journals.

The Dean also directed that the scientific development of the research teams established in the college be followed up and their activities supported in order to contribute to the advancement of scientific research, as well as following up on the convening of scientific department councils and committing to submitting their minutes properly and on time without delay.

Regarding exams, the Dean stressed the need to expedite the completion and announcement of exam results in accordance with approved instructions, with an emphasis on following up with first-year students.

At the end of the meeting, the Dean directed that educational courses be held for faculty members and emphasized the mandatory attendance of these courses, given their effective role in developing their scientific and research skills.
