The Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education/Haditha, Prof. Dr. Mudhir Abed Ali, participated in the proceedings of the scientific conference held by the Faculty of Basic Education at Muthanna University, by presenting a scientific research paper entitled ‘The Scientific Contributions of the Fazarians in Andalusia,’ in the presence of a select group of academics and researchers from various Iraqi and Arab universities. The aim of this participation was to enhance the scientific presence of the college and activate joint academic cooperation between Iraqi universities, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The research highlighted the Fazari tribe as one of the major Arab tribes, tracing its genealogy and the scientific and intellectual contributions of its members in Andalusia, particularly in the sciences of recitation, hadith, jurisprudence and linguistics, as well as their role in the judiciary and administration, using a descriptive historical approach based on specialised historical sources and references, with scientific accuracy in analysing the facts and highlighting the impact of the Fazariyyah on the scientific and intellectual movement in Andalusian society.

The research also addressed the prominent role of the Fazara tribe in the Islamic conquests in the Levant, Iraq, Egypt, and the maritime conquests, highlighting the contributions of a number of its leaders and knights in decisive battles that had a profound impact on the course of Islamic history. This scientific participation comes within the recommendations of the President of the University on the need for academic openness and encouraging teachers to actively participate in scientific conferences, thereby contributing to the development of scientific research and enhancing the status of Iraqi universities in academic forums.
