The Faculty Council of the School of Elementary and Modern Education Holds Its Sixth Regular Open Meeting / First Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year

The Faculty Council of the College of Basic and Modern Education held its sixth regular open meeting (Part I) for the 2025–2026 academic year, chaired by the esteemed Dean of the College, Prof. Mazhar Abdul Ali, and in the presence of the Council members, with the exception of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, who was absent due to performing the Hajj pilgrimage, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., to discuss a number of academic and administrative issues related to the educational process and the organization of work in the academic departments and all college facilities.

The Council Chair directed that the Council remain in open session throughout the final exam period for the purpose of directly supervising the exams and addressing any developments in accordance with the granted authorities.

The session included a discussion of a number of topics on the agenda, the most notable of which were:

* Monitor preparations for the final exams of the second semester/first session of the academic year (2025–2026), and ensure that all necessary resources are in place to guarantee their success, with a particular focus on maintaining surveillance cameras in optimal condition.

* Prepare to receive graduate student applications and prepare for the competitive exam, while adhering to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s instructions regarding the use of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 100% of the exam.

* Emphasizing the importance of digital transformation and reducing paper use in official transactions and scientific activities, and adopting electronic means in conferences, seminars, and workshops through the use of QR codes to display topics, record attendance, and issue electronic certificates via official email.

* Presenting high-quality projects for consideration by the Central Industrial Advisory Council, while supporting creative and innovative ideas from faculty members and students and coordinating with relevant authorities.

* Presenting the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s / Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority regarding the prohibition of smoking within universities, colleges, and institutes, and emphasizing compliance with the smoking ban within the educational institution and taking legal action against violators, while raising awareness of the dangers of smoking in accordance with Anti-Smoking Law No. (19) of 2012.

* Emphasizing the maintenance and upkeep of gardens and green spaces on campus and adherence to the specified schedules for agricultural work in coordination with the Agricultural Unit.

* The importance of treating students humanely when collecting tuition fees in a manner that preserves their dignity and takes into account their personal and emotional circumstances, while complying with current regulations.

* Encourage faculty members to publish their research in reputable international journals indexed in Clarivate and Scopus, thereby enhancing the academic standing of the college and the university.

* Complete the requirements for program accreditation and the improvement plans for the academic departments.

* Update the vision, mission, and objectives of the college and academic departments to align with quality standards, academic development, and the requirements of graduate and undergraduate studies.

* Present the minutes of the Academic Promotion Committee and discuss the case of a faculty member’s promotion to the rank of professor, in addition to discussing a number of other topics on the session’s agenda.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council Chair expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Council members for their contributions, suggestions, and constructive discussions, praying to God Almighty for their continued success, guidance, and prosperity.
