The Faculty of Basic/Modern Education is one of the first faculties to obtain program accreditation at the level of public and private universities in Iraq
As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's drive to enable academic departments in colleges to obtain academic accreditation, thereby contributing to the alignment of learning outcomes with the needs of the labor market, enhancing opportunities for advancement in national rankings, and raising the academic reputation of academic departments at the national and international levels, the General Sciences Department at the College of Basic Education has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining program accreditation from the National Council for the Accreditation of Educational Programs, which is affiliated with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
This accreditation came after the program passed a comprehensive evaluation process conducted by the national evaluation team, based on the approved national standards for ensuring the quality of teacher and instructor training programs, reflecting the department's institutional readiness and commitment to applying quality standards and continuous improvement.
The accreditation was the result of systematic institutional work that included developing the university environment, enhancing the educational environment, improving learning outcomes, and strengthening partnership and coordination with the Ministry of Education, in line with the requirements for preparing educational competencies capable of keeping pace with modern changes in education and the labor market.
The college dean confirmed that program accreditation represents an objective national indicator of the quality of the academic program in the General Sciences Department and the efficiency of its outputs. It embodies the department's commitment to applying quality standards and establishing a culture of continuous improvement in academic and research performance.
This achievement confirms the Faculty of Basic Education's orientation towards establishing an educational model based on quality and sustainability, thereby strengthening its position among the leading faculties in preparing educational cadres and serving the community.
