Meeting of the Faculty of Basic/Modern Education Council – Fourth Open Session/First Section

 

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, the Faculty of Basic/Modern Education Council held its fourth open session/part one, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mazhar Abdul Ali, and attended by all members of the Council.

During the meeting, the head of the Faculty's Academic Promotion Unit, Prof. Dr. Jabran Iskandar Rafiq, was hosted. The meeting discussed the academic promotion transactions that had been completed, the names of the teaching staff eligible for promotion in the next phase, and listened to the needs of the Academic Promotion Unit and the difficulties it faces.

In this context, the Dean emphasized the importance of completing promotion procedures within the specified time frames, while urging the heads of academic departments to direct professors to complete the requirements for their academic promotions, thereby contributing to enhancing the academic standing of the college and raising its academic level.

On the other hand, the representative of the faculty's academics, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rajab Mohammed, was hosted, and the importance of his regular attendance at faculty council meetings was emphasized, given his active role in conveying the opinions, ideas, and suggestions of the teaching staff and listening to their comments, as well as communicating the faculty council's directives to the teaching staff, thereby enhancing institutional communication and contributing to addressing academic and administrative challenges.

 

A number of scientific and administrative issues included in the agenda were also discussed, with the Council discussing the directives of the University President and the mechanisms for their implementation in line with the strategic plans approved for the College.

The Council also discussed the internationalization of the Faculty through the activation of memoranda of understanding with Jordanian universities, in support of international academic cooperation and the expansion of scientific partnerships.

The Council also addressed the formation of research teams to enhance teamwork and promote sound scientific output, as well as the activation of community service studies to consolidate the college's role in serving the local environment.

The importance of organizing extracurricular activities and volunteer work to develop students' skills and refine their personalities was also emphasized.

In the context of academic development, the Council discussed updating the curricula for all scientific departments to keep pace with scientific developments, as well as following up on the adaptation of international students and ensuring their integration and stability within the university environment.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on following up on the implementation of the recommendations and decisions taken, in order to enhance institutional performance and contribute to the achievement of the college's academic and educational goals.
