Political action in Iraq plays a vital role in building the state and developing the democratic system, especially after the major changes the country has witnessed since 2003. Here are some points that illustrate the importance of political action in Iraq, with a special focus on incentivizing women's participation in legislative and local elections:

The importance of political action in Iraq

1. Strengthening Democracy

   - Political action contributes to the consolidation of democratic principles by participating in elections, forming governments, and monitoring the performance of institutions.

2. Stabilization and development

   - Effective political action can contribute to resolving political, economic, and security crises.

3. Representation of all societal components

   - Iraq is a multi-confessional and multi-ethnic country, and political action contributes to involving all components in decision-making.

4. Fighting corruption and promoting transparency

   - Through political participation, people can choose honest representatives and hold corrupt officials accountable

It also incentivizes women's participation in legislative and local elections

Iraqi women constitute half of society, but their political participation is still below expectations. Therefore, their role must be strengthened by raising awareness of the importance of women's political participation

   - Organizing awareness campaigns in universities and civil society to encourage women to run and vote.

Support women's quotas and amend laws

   - Maintain the quota system in parliament and local councils to ensure fair representation.

 Empowering women economically and educationally

   - Provide educational and training opportunities to enhance women's leadership skills.

Protecting women from violence and discrimination

   - Enforce strict laws against harassment and political violence against women.

  In conclusion

Political action in Iraq is essential to ensure the country's stability and prosperity, and women's participation is necessary to achieve true democracy. Concerted efforts must be made by the government, parties, civil society, and the media to ensure that Iraqi women are active in political decision-making at all levels.
