Scientific workshop (Mechanism for selecting indexed scientific journals within the Scopus repository for humanities disciplines)
Within the directives of the University Presidency to conduct workshops on the mechanism of selecting scientific journals indexed in Scopus for humanities disciplines by the roving team of specialised professors, and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Basic Education / Haditha, Prof. Dr. Mudhir Abed Ali, our college held on this day, Tuesday, 4/2/2025, a workshop on the importance of publishing in Scopus.
The lecture presented by the lecturers dealt with the following:
First_ Scopus is an abstract and citation database that is one of the most important and largest databases dealing with peer-reviewed scientific journals used by researchers, academics and scientific institutions around the world to publish research.
Advantages of publishing in Scopus journals
1. Widespread dissemination as Scopus provides a huge database that includes hundreds of thousands of scientific articles and research papers, which helps in disseminating scientific work on a large scale.
2. Quality: Scopus includes high-quality journals that pass rigorous standards of scientific judgement.
3. Citation search: Scopus makes it easy to search for scientific articles and research papers, and provides tools to analyse citations and quotations.
How to publish in Scopus journals
1. Choosing the journal: Researchers can choose the appropriate journal to publish their research by searching the list of journals listed in the Scopus database.
2. Prepare the research: The research should be prepared according to the requirements of the target journal, including article formatting and scientific style.
3. Submission and refereeing: The research is submitted to the target journal, where it is judged by experts in the field and then assessed according to its quality, originality, and contribution to the scientific field.
