
Continental in The climate Anbar of Governorate

Anbar Governorate is considered part of the Arabian Peninsula, Its surface is crispy, characterised by a desert climate, low rainfall and a large variation in temperature between day and night. Summer temperatures rise to 42 degrees Celsius, whilst in the winter average lows reach 9 degrees Celsius. The northwesterly and southwesterly winds are sometimes to a maximum speed of 21 m/s. Average rainfall in winter between (50 -200) mm. Through the study of the continental climate of Anbar province, based on the Borisov equation, and by analyzing the data of 8 climatic stations distributed over the study area and for the period (2001-2011). It was found that the prevailing climate in Anbar Governorate is of the continental type, and the degrees of continental in the governorate’s climate vary between severe continental and very severe continental climate, due to the poor access to marine influences, especially to the Mediterranean Sea, and the poverty of the study area with natural vegetation.
