Vision:

Achieving leadership and excellence in the field of preparing teaching staff for the basic stage, accomplishing scientific research and effectively contributing to the modernisation and development of the educational process in the light of accreditation and quality standards.

Mission:

The Department of General Sciences seeks to provide a specialised academic and educational programme and continuously strive to develop these programmes to prepare and qualify a distinguished cadre of university teachers academically and professionally in teaching, evaluation and understanding to meet the renewed needs in the labour market and provide the best educational and knowledge services to the community and develop it through effective partnerships, in a stimulating learning environment and in the light of local, regional and international quality standards.

Objectives:

1. Prepare scientifically and educationally qualified teachers armed with faith and patriotism and provide them with the ability to manage classrooms, implement effective educational activities, use modern technologies in teaching science and carry out scientific experiments.

2. Conducting scientific research in the different specialisations of the department and linked to the national development plan.

3. Providing scientific advice related to the department's specialisations to various community institutions.

4. Community service and continuing education by opening training and consultancy courses and scientific meetings with members of educational institutions.

5. Providing the department's graduates with the skills and knowledge that qualify them to complete their postgraduate studies.

6. Developing the teaching staff through continuous training in the areas of modern teaching strategies, the use of technology in education, and effective evaluation methods.
